こんなショッキングな記事がスラドで紹介されていたので元記事をチェックしてみた。
A lesbian university student who auctioned her virginity on the internet to pay for her studies is reported to have had sex with the highest bidder. Rosie Reid, 18, from London, slept with a 44-year-old BT engineer in a hotel room in Euston after he paid her £8,400, the News of the World reports.ホント、何でも売ってるね、e-bay。。じゃ、ね～だろ！このレズビアンの彼女は、オークションで最高値をつけた自称44歳の男に処女を売ったそうな。
何とも言いがたい事件。
それにしても、このRosieさんはどの程度考えた上でこのような行動に及んだのだろうか。
記事によれば、
"I'll leave university £15,000 in debt. That's why I am taking this drastic action."
とあり、大学卒業に際して15,000ポンド（約295万円）の借金があったことが直接の原因だとあるが、このように大々的にメディアに取り上げられたことによるマイナス要因については十分考えていたのか？てか、これがドラスティック・アクションすか・・
変態オヤジに処女を売っぱらって、今後「ネットで自分の処女を売った女」として生きていくことに対する代償が8,400ポンド（約165万円）で済むのかねぇ・・
それとも、こうした波及効果をプラスと捉えた売名行為なのか・・理解に苦しみます。
